Re: New Topic Ideas

New Topic How to make NPCs for your players to get into relationships? I've played in a few games where there were good romantic prospects. But often, even in games that have genres suited for romance or even are touted as "romance rpgs", the NPCs that end up meeting with the party are not compatibl...

Re: PTG196 – Making Dungeons Sexy Again

Mulan might be OK.

But they are already off to a horrible start by not having the best part: Mushu!

Re: PTG195 – 2Fast2Cliche

Hey, I said the untrustworthy Kender was a cliche'. Not that it was necessarily the norm. (TBH- most Kender were just played vary poorly that used the race as an excuse to steal from everyone including the party and generally be annoying "because that's what the Kender would do". I have met better p...

Re: New Topic Ideas

Not sure if this is a topic, but your joke about Dopplegangers reminded me of something. Mimics and traps. I see a lot of threads about clever use of mimics, from the toilet mimic to tables, chairs, beds, etc. And some GMs love things like Grimtooths Traps. Personally, as a GM and player, I think th...

Re: PTG194 – You Want To Listen To This Episode

Thanks.

Something else that ties into this loss of agency is the use of Stun, Hold Person, Sleep, Entangle, etc.

It has similar effects and it's frustrating to be in the climactic end scene and your character is inactive for more than half the scene.

Re: MMP#389 – Reskinning Redux

TBH - when I'm at home gaming online, Sei likes to sit on my shoulder. Sometimes they can hear him purring into the Mike. During the podcasts, Phin sometimes comes over and begs for treats, (because the podcast area is also the game room and I keep kitty treats down there, which the players dole out...

Re: New Topic Ideas

Designing Pre Gens for a One Shot and Making Encounters that use PCs Skills I have been in too many One Shots lately where the GM used pregens that were obviously generated with no regard for the adventure. (Often using stock pregens from the company website combined with a homebrew adventure). And ...

Re: New Topic Ideas

How do you lean into Genre Tropes or Setting Tropes to make certain the players get a chance to experience the unique ticks of the world? I played a Low Life game at Savage Sundays last week and it was lackluster at best. "You see a Blurg. Draw for initiative." Might have well as bee "You see an orc...
