Re: The Game Master
On the term "player" I like the Facilitator/GM to be called a player also. Player is such a broadly applied term, it can be used in sports to theater, so I don't have a problem with it's authority. Still the Facilitator is a unique role within the session so it really helps to have a speci...

Re: MMP#368 – EP of For the Queen Part 2
A thought on pacing and card numbers in For The Queen. I think there's a level of understanding of the queen that builds as everyone answers. I think each player weighs their own character against the cumulative image of the queen.

Re: Cyberpunk Red
I think there's improvement in the hacking rules but I feel like there's something missing that I can't put my finger on. I sat in on a session of 2020 that was being run at UB some years back and I loved the way the GM did hacking but I haven't been able to distill what he was doing to replicate it...

Re: The Game Master
I was never the greatest GM in the world but I used to have system mastery down. At one point when I was a teen my group had played campaigns in 22 different games and we had a giant stack of books in our game room. I could quote you verbatim the rules to each game and if you didn't think I had it r...

Re: What are you reading?
Mostly nonfiction, been reading Universal Principals of Design and The Art of Game Design.
I was reading The Epic of Gilgamesh recently (not nonfiction).
I need to pick up a good Sci-fi novel. I don't think I could work through a whole series like The Expanse.

Haven't played. I think the designer has mainly been active on discord. Maybe you could find out more on the channel? https://discord.gg/m3zRb3u

I'm super late coming to it. It was released in 2012! That's even older than I thought. You can find it on Steam still. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fez_(video_game)

Re: In-Game Community
Not the same thing, but a lot of my games involve the characters giving communities the chance to escape an advancing threat.

Re: Rolling vs Role-ing
I guess this comes down to if you're interested in playing to find out what happens or if you play to craft a story. I doubt anyone is exclusive in one of those directions. It seems like people fall somewhere in the middle but often drifting to one side. I lean towards playing to find out but I like...

Re: Gamer Aspects
I'm almost always the GM but years ago we rotated the position regularly and with my current group we've rotated a few times.
