Re: S4E3 - Hippocratic Oath

This series of course has had (and will have) no shortage of Bashir/O'Brien storylines, but I like these ones the best where they explore the differences in their philosophies. In particular, I especially like it when the differences between them are born of their very different experiences. O'Brien...

Re: S4E2 - The Visitor

Just a bit of "meta" trivia that I like: this isn't the first (nor the last!) time we see Tony Todd in the franchise. He also plays the recurring character of Worf's once-secret brother, Kurn! I dunno...something just tickles me about the idea of Jake growing up to be like a son of Mogh. :D

Re: S4E1 & 2 - The Way of the Warrior

I have nothing much to add here. What a way to kick off a season, a cast change, a lasting crossover, a major plot arc development...everything. So great to see!

The Too Many Rikers Theory

Okay, so this question occurred to me while I was rewatching "Defiant" (the episode with Thomas Riker), and it me so hard that I had to stop what I was doing and ponder the implications.

Do you think...there's a Mirror Universe Thomas Riker?!

Re: S3E9 - Defiant

This is starting to be a frequent refrain from me, but I remembered this episode as "meh," but then gave it another look for Watch Club, and I ended up enjoying it a lot more than my memory would have led me to expect. I think that back in the day I eyerolled hard at the whole Thomas thing...

Re: S3E24 - Shakaar

This was tough to watch because I find Kai Winn just so distasteful , but it was a good episode; stronger than I remember it being. It specifically falls into an area that's growing more and more interesting to me, the idea of the "post-revolution." Even more specifically, this episode goe...

Re: S3E20 & 21 - Improbable Cause and The Die Is Cast

When I came across these episodes for Watch Club, I realized I didn't remember them well, so I decided to give them a watch over a couple lunch breaks. Wow, am I glad I did! As dnaphil mentioned, the prospect of Obsidian Order and the Tal Shiar working together is terrifying, yes...but also so compe...

Re: S3E3 - The House of Quark

I don't think I can overstate my enjoyment of this episode. Not necessarily "the episode" qua the episode (though I do find it fun!), but much of my enjoyment comes from this episode's significance and context, which is that of a fun, enjoyable, and still consistent story which is about al...
