Re: S3E3 - The House of Quark

I don't think I can overstate my enjoyment of this episode. Not necessarily "the episode" qua the episode (though I do find it fun!), but much of my enjoyment comes from this episode's significance and context, which is that of a fun, enjoyable, and still consistent story which is about al...

Re: S2E22 - The Wire

Such a damn good episode. It's a very... Garak episode. And not just about him, but, like...evokes his essence. Kind of hammy and extra-dramatic. :D But that's our Garak! But, yeah, I can't get over the performance and the story. It's like...even in the grips of his brain dissolving, Garak can't hel...

Re: S2E19 - Blood Oath

"How did you get in here?"

"I am Koloth."

"That doesn't answer my question."

"Yes. It does."
Oh my GOD. :D

Dax and Odo

Okay, this may be a little premature, but I gotta get this out there before the idea puffs out of my brain in a cloud of ADHD. But (motivated by a different post ) I just started watching "Shadowplay," and still in the cold open I paused the show and hopped over here, because I just had a ...

Re: S2E19 - Blood Oath

Not much to add; I, too, love this episode. On the surface, it's Klingon-heavy for sure, but I also like to think of it as quite a big Trill episode, too. The Trill symbiont/host lifecycle is such a rich vein to mine for exploring character relationships, and it always turns my head when we wade int...

Re: S2E15 - Shadow Play

Like I said, I've been mostly going off memory so far in DS9 Watch Club, but it's apparent that I only really remembered the "A" plot of this episode, so Phil's description of it does make me want to go back and give this another run-through. In my memory it was "fine" as, like.....

Re: S2E12 - The Alternate

Several times characters touch one of the obelisks, as if the obelisk is part of the overall mystery. The obelisk is by far the weirdest part of this episode for me. As you say, it feels like it gets centered a lot, but it seems to serve zero purpose, even just story purpose. Its oddness starts rig...

Re: S1E16 - The Foresaken

The big part that sticks with me from this episode (and probably will for all time) is Odo's "I don't eat! This is not a real mouth!" protestation. :D

Re: S1E15 - If Wishes Were Horses

I just remembered something...I saw a recording of an interview or a con appearance or some such where Colm Meaney said that originally "Rumpelstiltskin" was meant to be a leprechaun instead, but when he (Meaney) first saw the script he was basically, like, "Really? A leprechaun, you ...
