I think I posted this back in the G+ days, so here's my repost of "OldSchoolDM’s Fudge (-+1) Token Rules"

It's a way for both players and DMs to openly fudge a roll, using a currency and an economy.

BTW, one thing you left out of your definition is if a currency/economy supports trading/sharing between players/characters...
