*I* remember 2300 AD!

With the mention of Traveller 2300/2300 AD on the latest Misdirected Mark episode, I just wanted to send some love that game's way.
The aliens were the most deeply conceived and realized I've ever seen in a science fiction RPG. They were truly *alien* and incomprehensible, but they made sense as their own species/cultures, once you got to read the GM's section.
Similarly, I found much of the overall *setting* very believable.
However, I was totally turned off by the rules. Any game that requires me to use decimals when calculating if shots have penetrated armor, that game is dead to me.
